EM— The About Me
My name is Elise Mountsier and I am that "special kind of nerd" who enjoys copyediting. I was always the kid in high school who was paired up for peer edits with whoever was struggling the most. "Pair up with whoever you want. Except Elise—you pair up with *name*". I shudder to remember my teachers ripping those pages out of my hands after the bell rang. I suppose I was an editor long before I knew myself.
Today, I am finished with my education and pursuing work as a copyeditor or technical writer. I believe in the power of language. I believe that the central goal of editing is to make complex ideas accessible. I work towards that goal every time I sit down to write or edit. Thank you for taking the time to read my work.
